College Background
The Federal College of Education, Ididep, Akwa Ibom State, was established by the Federal Government of Nigeria in May 2023 to meet state and national technical skills needs, as part of the National Education Policy (NEP) to promote the production of qualified Teachers at the foundation/basic segment of the Education Sector. This is designed to be partly achieved through the establishment of at least one Federal College of Education in each state of the Federation. The pioneer Principal Officers were equally appointed.

Organizational Structure
The Honourable Minister for Education is the Visitor to the College.
The Federal College of Education, Ididep, like other Federal Colleges of Education in Nigeria, is regulated by the National Commission for Colleges of Education (NCCE), headed by the Executive Secretary.
Governing Council
Responsible for policy formulation and approval of the College’s strategic plans and activities.
Management Committee
Oversees the day-to-day administration of the College and takes decisions on matters of general interest.
Academic Board
Directs and manages academic matters, including regulation of student admissions and academic standards.
School Board
Comprising all academic staff within a School, the School Board handles academic matters and other responsibilities assigned by the Council, Academic Board, or the Provost.
Departmental Board
Manages academic matters and departmental affairs specific to each Department.
